Why Give?
We tithe to show how awesome our God is. God owns all—everything on Earth and beyond is holy to Him. When we tithe, we offer up to Him what is His, and show that we recognize this ownership as a constant blessing upon us all.
Billy Graham once said that “Thanksgiving – the giving of thanks – to God for all of his blessings should be one of the most distinctive marks of the believer in Jesus Christ.” We believe that statement to be true and aim to give not only our time and talents, but also our treasures.
6 Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. – 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (NASB)
