It
is the duty of Deacons to minister to those who are in need,
to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress
both within and beyond the community of faith.
Tawas
F.I.S.H. meet at TAPC on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 7:00
p.m. This meeting will be to sign-up for the annual Christmas
Gifthouse, which helps many local families each year. Everyone
is invited to attend and learn more about F.I.S.H. Monetary
donations are always welcome as are new children's books for
the Gifthouse. Please contact Kathy Reddick if you have any
questions. We hope to have a great turnout from our Church.
The
Deacons are accepting donations to purchase phone cards for
those serving in war zones or hospitalized in military facilities.
We will need contact addresses so we know where to send the
phone cards. Please contact Carol Ellis with address
information, either by phone at 989-
756-4508 OR bring it to the Church Office to put in her mailbox.
At their
last meeting, the Deacons officially confirmed the "Prayer
Chain" parameters. Anyone who would like to be informed
of prayer requests, and isn't already receiving these notices
by email or by telephone, may request to be put on the
Prayer Chain list - by calling the Church Office and giving
their current email address or telephone number. To make
a prayer request, you can: 1) fill out a card on the Deacon's
Prayer Ministry Board, 2) email the church, or 3) call the
Church Office or Pastor. Discretion regarding personal information
will always be observed. If you need more information, call
the church office or Pastor Rick.
Many
thanks to Jim Minard for donating his time, talents and
materials to provide us with a new Linen Closet Box.
Your linen contributions can now be deposited in the new Linen
Box alongside the Deacon's Food Box in the Narthex.
