JUST
A THOUGHT . . . . . (FROM THE PERSON IN THE
NEXT PEW)
A friend
came up to me one day and said, "I prayed
for you this week." After my mind sorted through the
fact that
I wasn't sick, was not going for tests or surgery and nothing
traumatic had happened in my life recently, I said, "Thank
you, but why?" My friend replied that I had come to mind
and she thought a prayer might help me with my busy life.
I couldn't believe how good that made me feel. Someone cared
enough about me to lift me to God. It made me feel "special"
for days.
The power
of prayer. We don't know how a prayer is going to affect someone's
life, but we do know that talking to God is an uplifting experience.
So say a prayer for someone each day, whether they are troubled
or not. Just thank God for their presence. What a warm and
bright world this would be if we all felt this blanket of
prayer around us. AMEN!
(This
is a repeat from the March 1998 Connections. But it bears
repeating as we all need reminding of the comfort given to
both the receiver and giver of prayer.)
