THE
HURON SHORES SPRING CONCERT
Friday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. |
The
concert will only be about 1 hour long and will include the
choir singing the Festival Mass, a lovely, lively and rather
brief work by John Leavitt; For the Beauty of the Earth
by John Rutter; I'm Going Home (from
the movie, Cold Mountain') and The Majesty and Glory
of Your Name - (the last two of which our church choir
did two years ago, and which many in the congregation requested
we do again. In addition, Melanie Bowie, our wonderful accompanist
and Tina Donze, flutist (who has played here at TAPC many Sunday
mornings in the past) will offer several movements of a beautiful
piano/flute duet, Fantasy for Flute. All of this
concert's music is delightful to the listener - none of it is
"stuffy" and 2 of the 4 mass movements are so fast
and exciting, they are finished almost before you know they
began. Patty Vogeley is once again directing this group of 31
singers (the largest spring ensemble ever, according to Dr.
Cargo). - We hope you will plan
to attend and bring a friend and/or neighbor with you. |

Giving
is healthy for us: Abraham Brunk, a professor and
researcher in the Netherlands, found that people oriented
toward giving and sharing are more physically and emotionally
fit than their self-focused and less generous peers. Brunk's
study showed that givers use 50 percent fewer sick days. They
also have lower blood pressure and higher self-esteem.
