 As
I sat in a pew recently, before most of the congregation arrived,
I was filled with the thought of all the people who had contributed
to the progress of this church, from it's humble beginnings.
I think the deaths of several members in the past few months
had stirred these memories. They were all with us through
our early years and their talents, friendliness, and love
of the church were most evident. My thoughts wandered to the
rest of us who have been around for most of the life of this
congregation and I realized that someday we would all be gone
from this earthly home. This is not a sad thought as we will
be with our Lord and our families, but it does mean we will
not be here to see what happens next. We know we have wonderful
new members joining all the time with talents of their own
that will continue to guide this church in the future. We
just pray that we have laid a solid foundation for them to
continue to build on and the warmth, love, and spirit of this
congregation will continue to expand and encompass all who
come through our doors. "All who enter here are welcome
to the house of the Lord".
