 JUST
A THOUGHT
( FROM THE PERSON IN THE NEXT PEW)
I know we have a congregation of wonderful, helpful people that
are willing to work for our church any time they are called
upon. So sometimes I wonder why when we offer special programs
at the church, the turnout of our members is so low. I have
noticed that when we have special concerts or visiting artists
our audience consists of people from other churches, or the
community at large and not always a sizeable number from our
own congregation. Sometimes, when we are the hosts, it is a
little embarrassing to see how under represented we are. I know,
I have heard the excuses, "We live so far away; It is too
cold to go out or too hot; I'm not sure I would like what is
being presented" and so on. You won't know until you try
it. They are all free so what have you got to lose! Even our
potluck programs are not drawing the participants they should.
The food is good, the fellowship is fun and the programs are
good. So come on join the fun. If you need a ride, let us know,
someone will arrange transportation. Watch the church calendar
for future events. |
