THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO FILLED HEALTH KITS THIS YEAR!

74 Health Kits were delivered to the Presbytery to be distributed during summer health fairs. It was a great response!

In 2010, $722.00 was raised from the salad luncheon sponsored by the Mission Committee. This enabled us to meet several annual monetary obligations including contributions to F.I.S.H., Nursing home Chaplain, Habitat for Humanity, Child Fund, as well as emergency food for local families.

The Mission Committee is again sponsoring a Salad Luncheon on Thursday, July, 14 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Large salads, desserts and workers are needed. A sign up sheet is in the servery. Donations toward rolls and supplies are gladly accepted. All monies raised will be used to fund community outreach throughout the year. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Our food pantry is nearly empty and the need for help continues throughout the year. If you are able to donate to the Deacons box, the food will be given to local families. We thank you.

Kathy Reddick, Mission Committee Chairperson

MEMORIAL COMMITTEE

The summer planting of the Memorial Garden has been completed. The red mulch has been spread and another beautiful rose has been added to the rose garden area. The rhododendrons were both in full bloom over the past week and they were a beautiful sight.

If you have not been able to guess what the new statue represents in the garden, the formal name is ‘Petal Point'. It is a blossom opening up to the heavens above. The committee has decided to keep the statue where it now stands.

Perhaps you might like to purchase a paver brick for a loved one and have it engraved and placed in the pathway walk in the garden. This could be done before the Anniversary Celebration that is scheduled for August.

We welcome anyone who loves gardening to join us in keeping the garden in beautiful condition. Just check with the committee to see what you can do to help.

Shirley MacLeod, Memorial Committee Chairperson
