It
is the duty of Deacons, first of all, to minister to those
who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any
who may be in distress, both within and beyond the community
of faith.

A Meal Offering for May was $78.00.
Many
thanks to the Congregation for supplying the 62 Health
Kits
which were sent to Presbytery. T.A.P.C. tied with Bay City
First Presbyterian Church for the highest number of kits provided.
|
| The
T.A.P.C. Food Bank is doing well, however, food is always
needed. The Deacons are investigating "Angel Food Network",
a new method for supplying food to the needy. |
| The
Linen Closet is adequate, except for blankets. |
| We
are still awaiting a family that meets eligibility for the empty
Habitat house. |
| The
Dinner Scramble is underway. |
| Thanks
to the Crafters for the Deacons' new bulletin board in
the Servery! |
| The
next Deacons Meeting is Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 @ 4:30 p.m.
|
| "Lord,
let me be a blessing to someone today." |
|
 |
| Thanks
to the generosity of our congregation members, 62 Health
Kits were delivered to Presbytery on June 3rd. |
|
The 2007
Mission Brochures are available in the pamphlet rack located
by the front entrance to the Parlor. The brochures explain
how our mission dollars were allocated.

| VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED |
| Angel
Food Ministries, which offers affordable food for everyone,
is managed by Christ Episcopal Church of East Tawas. The food
is pre-ordered at a cost of thirty dollars a month. Each month's
menu is different, but includes fresh and frozen items. Each
month's selection is worth at least twice what is charged. Volunteers
are needed to unload boxes of food during delivery, and to assist
those who need food carried to their cars. Volunteers are needed
from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month.
Please call 362-3531 if you can help. |

Tawas
F.I.S.H. is also in need of volunteers to answer their
crisis hotline one day a month. Training is provided. To volunteer,
call 362-8788. F.I.S.H. is a non-profit, ecumenical, Christian
organization providing caring service in our area. T.A.P.C.
contributes to F.I.S.H. throughout the year.
