for Humanity

The Fellowship
Committee members for the 2011 year are as follows:
Carol Berry, Judy Crain, Jan Doak, Judy Douglas, Bea Martin,
Evelyn Moon, Sue Murton, Ginny scales, Nan Scales and Vida
Minard, chairperson. We have had help from the other members
of our congregation when needed.
We have
served coffee and cookies for the Fellowship time each Sunday,
with the congregation providing the cookies and the monies
collected in the basket on Sunday morning providing the funds
to purchase coffee, lemonade, cream, sugar, cups, napkins,
etc.
We want to thank the congregation for their generous contribution
in the basket.
It has
been our responsibility to set up the tables and provide the
drinks for the monthly potluck dinners and Lenten soup suppers.
In January & February we have a Linger-for-Lunch after
the Sunday service and we provide the food for that activity,
whether it be kettles of soup or ask the congregation to provide
sandwiches, salads and desserts.
We have
provided lunches for three funerals this past year. For these
funeral luncheons, the members of the congregation have been
most helpful in providing food and helping where needed. One
of these luncheons was for our committee member Bea Martin,
she is missed very much. We served breakfast to the Bay city
youth twice during the past year.
A new
freezer was purchased for the kitchen, thanks to the Memorial
Committee. A new microwave and additional silverware were
purchased thanks to the Crafters and the Fellowship committee
purchased a small ice maker for the kitchen. The dishwasher
was changed in location so that it is easier to use, thanks
to the generosity of one of our church members.
We set-up
a policy for funeral luncheons, had someone come in to clean
the kitchen, and made refrigerator and cupboard room for the
pre-school to use. We are always in need for members to our
committee, several of our members go away for the winter,
so we do get pretty thin at times. Watch the bulletin on Sundays
for our meeting times and dates, we will welcome anyone that
wants to join us.
