| OUTREACH |
| The
purpose of the Outreach Committee is to reach out to visitors
and new people in the community, and make the congregation known
to the community. |
It's
members are: Linda Acord, Kate Cornack, Allen Hearn, Kathleen
Moore, Dale Verran, Newana Visser and Carl White.
In 2007, the Outreach Committee: |
-
held 5 meetings with a half-hour of prayer preceding the
business agenda
- advertised TAPC at Tawas Point Celebration Days, on restaurant
placemats, revamped our TV ad, web site and e mail accounts,
and negotiated a better phone ad with AT&T
- the AFC Band made nearly a dozen appearances, representing
TAPC
- became members of both the Tawas and AuSable/Oscoda Chambers
of Commerce
- monitored Church attendance and reported the same to the
Board of Deacons
- planned and facilitated the Church Ministries Fair (Continued)
- Manned a booth at the Oscoda "Art on the Beach"
- Chaired a meeting with representatives from all Church
committees to gain ideas on how to showcase Church materials
throughout our expanded facility
- Presented 4 Bibles to those without any
- Suggested we have a TAPC member give a standard welcome
and blessing whenever outside groups use our facilities
- Made 60 home calls to visitors
- Arranged for and hosted an "Open House" of TAPC
for the Iosco Historical Society
- Offered scripture, devotions and church-growth ideas at
meetings
