| "It
is the duty of Deacons, first of all, to minister to those who
are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who
may be in distress, both within and beyond the community of
faith." (Board of Order P.C. U.S.A.)
Serving
on the Board of Deacons in 2011 were: Carol Berry, Judy Crain,
Susan Davis (Moderator), Betty DeWilde (Vice-Moderator), Jan
Doak, Carol Ellis, Jill Gould, Laurie Jacot, Diane Loch, Vida
Minard (Secretary/Treasurer), Ileen Parker, George Sivertson,
and Roxanne Rosenfeld.
Bi-monthly
meetings began January 22. In March, it was determined that
due to a space requirement conflict between MI BLOOD and our
TAPPD, MI Blood Drives would be discontinued at TAPC.
Throughout
the year, Deacons were encouraged to remain diligent contacting
those members and friends on their care lists. Funding continued
for Two Coins a Meal and provisions continued to be sought
for the Deacons' Food Box. Along with members from its Mission
sub-committee, Deacons worked hard to support TAPC financially
at their July Salad Luncheon, and October Bazaar. Spiritual
support was offered from Deacons, as well as members of its
Fellowship sub-committee, at several Memorial Services, as
well as semi-monthly Bible studies taught by Janice Fox and
hosted (at breakfasts and luncheons) by Jan Doak.
The Board
of Deacons extends its sincere appreciation to all who assist
in it's ministry.
