(Sub-committee of Stewardship and Finance) |
| The
responsibilities of the Memorial committee are: to record and
maintain all memorial or honor gifts given to the church, to
acknowledge such gifts, and to care for and maintain the Memorial
Garden. |
| 2007
committee members were: Shirley MacLeod, Chairperson and Acknowledgment
Secretary, Sharyl Darnall, Historian, Phyllis Fales, Secretary,
Kaye Leisher, Audrey Nelson and Ileen Parker. They met quarterly
or "as needed". |
| Our
activities in 2007 included: |
- receiving
and acknowledging 50 monetary gifts (for a total of $3,720)
- continuing
to update the TAPC Memorial book
With Memorial gifts, we:
- purchased
2 pew candles and torch lamps for the Sanctuary
- framed
and matted the TAPC Covenant and Charter Member "wall-hanging"
- purchased
the CD player and recorder for the Audio Desk in the Sanctuary
- purchased a new Christmas Tree for the Sanctuary
- purchased
a new CD and tape player for the library
- Brought
the long-awaited Memorial Garden into a reality
- purchased
2 outdoor benches for the Memorial Garden
- purchased
trees, shrubs, flowering bushes, spring bulbs, annual
flowers and mulch
- purchased
an electric lawnmower to be used for grooming the Garden
and Bell tower grassy areas
- purchased
the Memorial Garden cross and bronze plaque
- purchased
13 bricks, had them engraved and placed in the walkway
- purchased
the Columbarium and had it installed. Requests for 6
niches have been made
