WORSHIP AND MUSIC

In this year of 2007, the committee has carried out it's duties in its customary manner. We have provided:

- ushers for all services
- communion servers
- advent candle lighters, and
- people and materials needed for any special events taking place in our Sanctuary

Regretfully, we accepted the resignations of Phyllis Fales and Kaye Wergedal, and lost Edna Bick as a member due to ill health and her move to the southern part of the state. However, we added Nan Scales to our committee, and Patty Vogeley became an active member again.

Our committee purchased several things for the Church this year:

- new fall paraments (gift from Bea Martin)
- a cd and tape player for the library (gift from Betty DeWilde)
- a new Christmas tree for the Sanctuary (gift from Andre` DeWilde) - 2 pew torchlight candles and holders (gift from the Memorial Committee)

Thanks to all those who pitched in to help decorate the Church for the Advent and Christmas seasons. And, thanks to both Kaye Wergedal and Margaret Derthick for their talents in decorating the Church for all seasons.

Our Music Program continues to be one of the highlights of our Church, under the direction of Patty Vogeley, along with the keyboard talents of Marcy Dykstra. Hand chimes are heard as a welcome addition to our regular music offerings, from time to time, also under the direction of Patty Vogeley. In 2007 The Flint Male Chorus, The Bay City Kids, and the talented Melanie Bowie at the organ and piano, along with our own choir as well as performances by the Huron Shores Chorus and the Sunrise Ringers graced our Sanctuary with their musical talents.

Our committee members, Margaret Derthick, Bea Martin, Andre` DeWilde, Nan Scales and Patty Vogeley, look forward to serving our expanding Church in the year 2008, with Pastor Rick guiding us and God always leading us toward a spiritual goal.

Respectfully submitted,
Betty DeWilde, Chairperson
