| MUSIC
DIRECTOR'S REPORT |
| Our
2007 choir year began on March 28th, and we provided music the
very next week for Palm Sunday, a Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service
and Easter Sunday. We provided an anthem every Sunday thereafter,
that was open, with the exception of one. Judy Douglas provided
special music on that Sunday by playing a piano solo. Many thanks
to our 24 active members in the choir. That did not change from
last year, except that we lost Don Borg as a regular choir member,
and welcomed Valerie Becker back. A big THANK YOU to Marcy Dykstra
for accompanying us. |
| Thank
you, also, to all the soloists from our choir, to Sheila Malewska,
Soprano, Allen Hearn, Judy Douglas and Patty Chonich, pianists,
and to Victoria Engvold, flutist, for enriching our worship
services with music during the year. We also thank the various
hand chime ringers in our congregation for their special music
throughout the year. |
| Ten
of our choir members are also active members of the Huron Shores
Chorus, which I directed again last year. That group practiced
at TAPC for the spring concert season, but did move back to
the Oscoda Methodist Church in the fall, a more central rehearsal
location for the majority of the choir, even though we all loved
rehearsing in this Sanctuary. |
|
TAPC's
Third Annual Concert, showcasing the organ and piano, was
held in September with Melanie Bowie, from Oscoda, providing
a very entertaining program of classical and contemporary
music.
Respectfully submitted,

| The
Choir will be on a well-deserved break from Jan. 13 - Mar. 30.
There is a sign-up sheet in the choir room for those who might
be able to provide special music during this period. Please,
if you have family or friends visiting who might provide a vocal
or instrumental solo, sign-up. There is a schedule of Rick's
sermon topics and scripture lessons on the same bulletin board,
so you can coordinate your music with the lesson(s) of the day,
if you are able. |
| THANK
YOU for helping out during our "choir hiatus". |
