BONDS - HELP YOU AND YOUR CHURCH |
Investing
in Tawas Area Presbyterian Church Bonds provide advantages to
the buyer and the Church. The buyer benefits by getting a very
favorable rate for their money, six percent per year. The Church
benefits by paying a lesser interest rate than the bank loan,
7.39 percent. These ten-year notes yield 6 percent interest,
paid annually, and after ten years you will receive the initial
investment back. The bonds are priced in $1,000 increments and
you can buy a bond at any multiple of $1,000 you wish. The bonds
are available now. Please consider what funds you may have available
and invest in your church. |

| Per
Capita Supports our Denomination. |
|
Per Capita
has been part of our funding history for over 150 years. When
presbyteries, synods and the General Assembly meet, they are
conducting the legislative and judicial business of the Church
and incur necessary expenses. There are also some necessary
administrative expenses involved, which enable these ecclesiastical,
legislative and judicial functions to be performed. Per Capita
is used to fund these activities. The whole Church shares
in these expenses. The amount is set each year based on the
individual Church's membership at the end of the preceding
year.
The
Per Capita for 2008 is $21.16
per member (1.6 percent larger than 2007) and is due to Presbytery
in February of 2008. There is a special envelope in your 2008
envelope pack that you can use to make your gift. When you
contribute to the Per Capita giving, it allows more funds
to be available from our Operating Fund to operate our Church.
