| The
Mission Committee really has a challenge this Christmas. There
are so many families in great need that we have taken on three
families from Oscoda and three families from Tawas, for a total
of twenty nine individuals (20 children - newborn to 13 years
of age, and 9 parents). |
CHRISTMAS
BASKETS
Again, there will be a sign-up sheet for Christmas food baskets.
We need: hams, specialty boxed-potatoes, canned green
beans, mushroom soup, French-fried Onion topping, cereal, peanut
butter, jams, pancake mix, syrup, boxed dinners (ex. Hamburger
Helper), tuna fish, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned
or boxed juices, canned or dry soups, crackers, hot cocoa mix,
canned dinners, and paper products. Donated items need to
be in the Deacons' Food Box in the Foyer no later than Monday,
Dec. 17th. |
CHARLIE
BROWN TREE
Our same 6 families will be the recipients of your generous
response to the 29 gift tags on our Charlie Brown Christmas
Tree', found in the Narthex this year. Each tag states the name,
age and gender as well as some gift suggestions. Please choose
only ONE gift per person (to keep the number of gifts
equal for everyone). If you select an article of clothing for
your gift, please include the sales slip inside the package
so it can be exchanged, if necessary. Attach the gift
tag securely to the holiday-wrapped package. Gifts need
to be placed in the Deacons' Box next to the tree no later than
Monday, Dec. 17th. |
| The
Mission Committee does follow our "adopted" families
throughout the year, and we help with food, heating bills and
other necessities. This is such a caring church, and we cannot
thank you enough for the overwhelming response we received for
the Thanksgiving Baskets. None of this would be possible without
your generous help. It is such a blessing when we share what
we have been blessed with, and you continue to do this over
and over again. Thank you, and God Bless you! |
