JUST A THOUGHT FROM THE PERSON IN THE NEXT
PEW |
Christmas
has rolled around so soon. Each year it seems to come faster.
We all know what a special time this is in the Christian year.
We welcome the Christ child, we sing carols, we greet our friends
with "Merry Christmas" and we visit families . All
this we do almost every year and we have a wonderful time feeling
the spirit of Christmas. But what of January and the months
to follow. So often you hear "winter is sooo long",
"this is a boring time of the year", everyone has
gone away for the winter and the church is empty". Well
the church isn't empty, for God is still there and his wonderful
blessings are still with us. So let us celebrate the wonderful
country around us, let us greet friends with "God be with
you", let us sing the old and familiar hymns and learn
some new ones too, think of our friends who are gone for the
winter, and then go out and make some new friends. God gives
us wonderful opportunities to broaden our spirits wherever we
are and whatever the time of the year. Thank you God for being
with us always and sending your Son to teach us how to live
in your way. Merry Christmas to You and Yours! |

| INCLEMENT
WEATHER POLICY |
|
Unless we experience unusually severe snow and/or
icing, we will not cancel our Sunday Worship service or Sunday
School, or other church events during the week. If you have
leadership responsibilities, you are NOT expected to attend
if there is inclement or dangerous weather. We do not want anyone
risking their personal safety in dangerous weather conditions......
so, if you are wary of venturing out, please stay safe and warm
at home.
We will
do our best to send out an email, change our message on the
answering machine and notify the local media as quickly as
we can, if we decide to cancel anything. If a committee/group
meeting is scheduled, please call the leader of that group
to verify that the meeting is being held, before you venture
out. If you cannot reach the group leader, please call the
Church office at 362-2371, or check your local television
news cancellation lists for updates.
