is the duty of Deacons, first of all, to minister to those

any who may be in distress, both within and beyond the
community of faith. |

The
T.A.P.C. Prayer Ministry is coordinated through the church office.
Prayer requests are listed each Sunday on the "Prayer Chain
Update", which is posted on the Deacon's bulletin board
in the Servery.
Updates and new requests are added throughout the week, and
E-mailed to those who have requested it. If you are NOT currently

Dear Friends,
Thank you for your gift to the Presbyterian Hunger Program
(PHP).
In March
the Presbyterian Hunger Advisory Committee was able to award
funds totaling $1,063,643 to 129 excellent programs that address
hunger and poverty internationally and nationally. In October
2008, the Advisory Committee will meet again to review ongoing
work and award more funds, contingent upon the amount of money
the PHP receives through the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering.
PHP's
work continues to touch the lives of millions - to name just
a few:
Farmers in Cameroon, Women in Nicaragua, Tomato Pickers in
Florida, and in the hearts and minds of Presbyterians in congregations.
As we
read about the Global Food Crisis and see food and gas prices
increase, we know that people in our congregations and neighborhoods
are struggling. We know that many don't have the choice between
food and gas. This crisis has widespread consequences and
Presbyterians are taking action to alleviate hunger and eliminate
its causes through direct food relief, development assistance,
public policy advocacy, hunger education and lifestyle integrity.
Please read our web page www.pcusa.org/hunger
to know more about what Presbyterians are doing in light of
the Global Food Crisis. Again, thank you for your ongoing
support.
