JUST
A THOUGHT . . . . .
(FROM THE PERSON IN THE NEXT PEW)
Two months
ago on the 60 Minutes show, I heard Andy Rooney give his oral
essay on umbrellas. He said that we do not know who invented
the umbrella, that it rarely can keep more than one person
dry, and that a real blowing wind can turn it inside out and
render it useless. There were other comments but this gives
us the idea of his essay. Well, that made me think about the
"umbrella" that we Christians live under. We know
that God created it, and that it definitely covers more than
one person, and that nothing can turn it inside out. We know
our umbrella as God's love and caring, and our faith in him.
There are many things that can come into our lives that the
umbrella cannot stop from touching us, but just knowing it
is there helps us to deal with the rain that comes into our
lives. And the sunshine that pours into our lives as blessings,
rain down from the umbrella also and come from God. So, as
the April showers come down and we hold our material umbrellas
up to protect us, let us remember the "umbrella"
of God's love that helps us through all the days of our lives.
